As you guys know, I’ve been having a hard time lately.  So when I entered a blog competition on Naomi’s blog I was shocked and excited to have won!

My prize was a style session at the River Island style studio at the Birmingham Bullring to try out the new River Island plus size range. Oh, and of course a voucher!

So I set off from the valleys yesterday morning, and headed to my appointment.

River Island is on the third floor of the main mall, and you can not miss it!

The store itself is beautifully laid out, light and airy and easy to move around.

The plus size range was a little harder to spot and was smaller than I expected. However, there is a relaunch in a few weeks time which will include more lines and wide fit shoes!

So the style studio:

The first person I met was Jessica, a personal style assistant. I felt immediately at ease, especially when the prosecco was opened!

Jessica also runs her own blog, My Secret Boutique and contributes to various newspapers and magazines. Check out her Instagram Here and you will see some super styling!

So what did I get?!

I had to get this dress. It’s easy to wear and I think I will wear it in the summer with these shoes, and the winter with tights and boots.

This dress costs £40 and you can shop It here.

This little number is so light I didn’t expect it to look so damn good!

The belt gives me that waist I’ve wanted for years and the cross over is super flattering.

I will be wearing this dress with heels and flats as it’s just so versatile!

This dress is £40, shop it Here

Ok this little lot! What can I say? Naomi had me in clothes I had never worn or had not worn in years! It truly is an experience having some one else choose clothes for you! I would never have put this together but I loved it!

Shop them here:

RI Plus Bardot cream top £25
RI Plus wet look leggings £22
RI Plus black bomber jacket £45
Overall, I am definitely going to treat myself to a style session again. I can honestly say that I felt comfortable and at ease and had a really good time!

A big thank you to Naomi for the experience and all the giggles! Check her out in her RI gear, the skirt is part of the new online range!

Thank you Naomi and River Island for a fabulous day out.

Two sleeps to go!!

Two sleeps to go!!

Two sleeps to go until the curvy convention!!

I can’t believe it’s here already! It seems like a life time ago that I had the balls do audition, and now it’s around the corner!

It’s been a huge commitment so far. Three rehearsals in London, three long journeys from the valleys- on top of a full time job where I travel all week! It’s been tough but I have loved it!

The best thing about the rehearsals are the other girls. We support and lift each other up. The atmosphere in the room is amazing. Like being surrounded by your sisters!

So I’ve began to get my beauty on, however it’s getting a little stressful…..

Also had a spray tan- first time ever… Shocked at the outcome……

Couple of washes and apparently it will be more golden and less orange. I bloody hope so!!

So far – the nails and brows are successful!!

I’ll keep you all updated on how the event goes! If you have tickets, please do come and say hello!!

Stay fabulous!!

#curvycon2016 – rehearsal 2

Oh my gosh I am so ashamed of myself! Blogging seems to have taken a back seat due to work commitments and everything else!

However, it’s something I really really enjoy so am committing myself to two blogs a week from now on!

This week, I went back to London for the second rehearsal for the curvy convention. I felt so much more confident this time around.

I have been practising at home and it made a difference!

The other thing that made a massive difference was that our group had gelled. It was great to see the girls and we spent the day empowering and supporting each other. Oh and of course having fun!

It was so hot outside and even hotter inside! Hence the hair scraped back!

We just want to do a great job on the day!

One more rehearsal to go and then it’s the main event!

Get your tickets Here

Looking forward to seeing you there!

Well I never!

Well I never!

So it’s been a while.

I always say this and I’m sorry- life just takes over sometimes! I missed you guys and hope you are all well!

So this curvy convention audition……

Like I said in my previous post I had a blast! I never thought any thing would come of it. I was just grateful to meet such great women and proud that I worked up the guts to go!

However, that’s not actually the end of it! I was one of the 35 girls to be chosen!! I have never been quite so excited about anything! Another chance to see these amazing women, play dress up and strut my stuff- I can’t contain myself!!

What happens next?

I have to attend some cat walk lessons! It’s so exciting! Then the big day is in May! No doubt I will have lots to tell you!

Thanks to every one for their amazing support! Especially to a group of wonderful women on Facebook who support, push and respect each other and helped me to do this.

Stay body positive!

#OOTD work conference

#OOTD work conference

depending on where you work, there may be a set dress code for a conference.

Where I work there seems to be a varied interpretation on ‘smart casual office wear.’

However, as this is a conference that I am running, I decided smart is the only way to go!

Here is my outfit for day 1:

Jacket and skinny fit trousers – Matalan

Top and bag – Next

Shoes – M&S

Necklace – Oasis

I love the bag because it gives that splash of colour!

What do you guys wear for a meeting at work?

Stay fabulous

Gemma Collins Fashion range

Gemma Collins Fashion range

I am not an avid watcher of the tv programme ‘the only way is Essex’.  It is all a little too dramatic for me!

I do however like getting dressed up, so I have been keeping an eye on the fashion antics of Gemma Collins.

I have to say, I’m quite impressed. As a beautiful real woman, she looks great in the range of clothes she designs- which should mean that us mere mortals have half a chance here.

Last year I bought this dress:

I didn’t keep it, because it was for a formal wedding and it wasn’t quite right. And with a price tag of £70, it had to go back, if I wasn’t going to wear it.

However, the fit was fabulous. I tried it on every day for three weeks until it had to be returned! The material draped and flattered me, giving me lovey curves rather then rolls! I especially like the wide straps- nothing better when you need scaffolding to keep your ladies in place!

I am now tempted again as this maxi dress is reduced too £35 on the Gemma Collins website.

While I was browsing through the website, I saw this:

I am seriously thinking that this is something I need to invest in! Isn’t it gorgeous!?

There are also a few tops I would like to try.  Has any one else tried this range? What do you think?

It’s almost Friday!!
